I’m a dreamer, believer, lover and sun-worshipper.  I’m an environmentalist who’s obsessed with all living things, an avid world traveler, and a yogi. I’ve been on a quest to find my truth and discover the best version of myself.

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

I was born in Turkey and spent most of my conscious life in New York. While growing up, I took every opportunity to travel abroad and finally transported myself to the US as an exchange student and that’s how my adventure began! Since we can’t choose the country we’re born in, I’d like to call myself a world citizen and wish for a borderless world someday.

I have started this blog to share my experiences with other folks who yearn to break free from the matrix and pass on everything I’ve learnt both in the worldly and spiritual sense.

I had all that I was supposed to want, a job with a good income, nice colleagues, beautiful apartment in Brooklyn, great friends, nice weekend escapes, perfect holidays. But I had a huge void inside me that none of these could satisfy.

My journey started when I took a sabbatical from my shiny career in advertising in New York City in 2013.  I had an irresistible urge to break free to find freedom outside the corporate world.
By following my inner voice, I packed my backpack and started traveling in and around South American jungles, the peaks of Andean mountains and the Himalayas, the beaches of Hawaii and Uruguay and the ashrams in India, Bali and Thailand discovering new cultures, experiences, and world views. My motive was to learn to
undo everything that I had learned in the modern society to fit in, to surrender to life and leave my comfort zone to experience a more authentic and more fulfilling life. I didn’t realize at that time that I was embarking on a lifelong journey.

Inevitably a deep exploration of myself and a journey of self healing began. My eyes were wide open and I was guided step after step to the exact places I needed to be.
I met great teachers who guided me on my path. W
ith every step I took, my materialistic view of the world slowly but surely crumbled apart.

Prior to returning to the US in 2016 for a short period of time, I’ve lived in Asia, mostly in India volunteering and educating myself as a mindful human being and yoga practitioner.  Then I took off again, this time for good! I closed my apartment in NY and said good bye to my dog Latte who found her new mommy.

In the last few years of my life, I have been so fortunate to realize the dreams I’ve dreamt of. Now when I look back, I laugh at the rat race I have been a part of to gain more possession or a higher status. It is so liberating to finally see that we all exist in unity and there’s no success in anything unless we all succeed together.

Traveling solo in hawaii
Traveling solo allows me to discover who I really am and it made me my best friend. Here I am with me having a great time in Hawaii @Black Sand Beach 😉

I can tell my remarkable transformation from the old Asli to this new me started with my introduction to Ayahuasca, the ancient plant medicine that connected me to my true-source as well as to everything around me.
Participating in my first ayahuasca ceremony in the woods in 2012 opened the doors of a new reality. I learnt valuable lessons about who I was and what my place was in the universe. Since I woke up from the dream, I’ve been constantly facing and taming my mind and learning to respond from my true source. You can read more about my experience with the plant medicine here.

Freedom is within reach..even if it takes you up to the Himalayas!

I am currently living a minimalist lifestyle on a beautiful island called Koh Phangan in Thailand, studying yoga as well as helping people find their dream jobs in the US.

Thank you so much for visiting my site! Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions I can help you with. Or enter a comment below about your dreams and journey. I’d love to hear from you!

May you all follow your dreams. Namaste ~

    Hi Asli !!

Much like Your Spirit……….Your site is absolutely Beautiful.. I’m helping to plan a wedding to be held in Columbia early January. Part of the couple’s itinerary/bucket list is an Ayahuasca retreat a couple of days before the wedding ceremony.

Would You be able to put Me in touch with anyone there I can coordinate and confirm dates and bookings with to help facilitate this process ? Your Inspired way of Articulating Your thoughts & Journey is Magical.

Looking forward to hearing from You 🙂
